Aluminized Steel
Aluminized steel is coated with an Aluminum Silicon coating using a process similar to Hot Dipped Galvanizing process. Aluminized steel has many of the same benefits as other zinc coated metals, but it also provides superior heat resistance. While aluminized steel does provide corrosion resistance, aluminum does corrode quicker than zinc, so aluminized steel is most often used in applications where the metal is subjected to higher temperatures. Common uses include automotive mufflers, ovens, grill burners, fireplaces, HVAC applications, water heaters, and baking pans.
